Social Support and Assistance-Sunday Group Activities
Involves assisting staff and providing social support for a group of
adults with a disability. Group activities range from Arts and Craft days to
Bingo and occur once per month on a Sunday.
Located in Oakden.
LIVE Picnic
Group
We are always on the lookout for more volunteers to join our Picnic Group.
We get together once per month on a Sunday to eat good food and enjoy
each others company with the option of a bit of a stroll after. Previous
locations include Carisbrooke Park, St Kilda Mangrove trail, Largs Bay, Botanic
Gardens and more.
Located all over Adelaide however we meet on the day in Broadview
then travel to location.
Social support-Experience required
We are looking for a volunteer to provide friendship and company for a man with
a disability who enjoys listening to music. Days and times are flexible although
at least one visit per fortnight is ideal. Experience in the mental health field
is required for this position and preferably you will be male older than 35.
Located in Salisbury.
Transport and Social support
This position involves providing transport and social support for a man with a
disability to access a weekly community group on Monday mornings
(9.30-12) in the Prospect area. You will be required to pick up from
Hope Valley, accompany him to the group where you will be supported by
paid disability workers and disability studies students and drive him home.
Transport is also required on a fortnightly basis on a Friday evening, same
areas (although not expected from the same volunteer). A comprehensively insured and road worthy vehicle as well as a current
drivers licence is required.

Social
support
This role involves spending time one on one with a man with a disability.
Friendship is the name of the game. We are looking for someone who enjoys
gardening, movies and has an appreciation of country and western music. The
successful applicant would be available on a Friday afternoon once
a fortnight for approx 3-4 hours.
Located in Gilles Plains.
Social support-swimming
We are looking for female volunteers to provide transport and accompany a woman
with a disability to access the local swimming centre on a more regular basis.
We have multiple positions available in the north eastern suburbs. Ideally you
will be available Thursday afternoons 1-5, or Monday, Wednesday or
Friday between 10 and 4.
Located in North eastern suburbs.
Social support-shopping assistance
This position involves helping a lady with a disability to do her shopping. The
volunteer will preferably be female, have access to a roadworthy vehicle and be
friendly and reliable. Times and days are flexible. An understanding of Dementia
would be useful also. Multiple positions available.
Located in Southern suburbs.
Social Support
This position involves supporting an older woman with a disability to attend her
weekly Tuesday morning activities at a nearby Italian village.
Alternatively activities could include craft, going out to lunch, shopping etc.
Ideally you would be under the age of 30 and available from 10-2.
Located in Holden Hill.
Social/Recreational Support
This position involves supporting a gentleman with a disability to continue a
walking/ weights program. Perhaps you have an interest in getting fit, or need
someone to motivate you to keep going at the gym? Ideally you will be available
Mon, Tues or Thursday pm.
Located in Craigmore.
Social Support-O'Sullivans Beach
We are looking for a volunteer to support a young woman with a disability to
access activities around Adelaide. Times and days are flexible although
need to be arranged around school times.
Located in O'Sullivans Beach.
Social Support-Myrtle Bank
This position involves providing friendship to a man with a disability once per
fortnight for approx. 3-4 hours on the weekend. Activities could
include going to the footy, movies, zoo trips or even just going for a walk.
Times are flexible. Ideally you will be male and in your 30's or 40's, although
this is flexible.
Located in Myrtle Bank.
Social Support/Walking
We are looking for a volunteer to accompany a lady on her weekly walks around
her local area. You would need to be available on a Friday afternoon.
Located in Edwardstown or Semaphore.
Gardening Support
We have multiple positions in the south west for
volunteers to provide some gardening support for individuals who have a
disability. Days and times are flexible.
Locations include Thebarton, Kurralta Park and Kensington.

All volunteers are required to attend
an interview, provide two referees and adhere to a police check. Experience
in the disability field is not necessary unless specified.
Disability awareness training is compulsory, although is negotiable if you
have equivalent experience. Reimbursement is available for all positions to
cover petrol, bus tickets, entry fees etc. We ask that our volunteers commit
to at least 6 months.
